ALL ABOUT DANIELA

Artist Bio

Daniela Szeőke is an emerging artist working in her home city of Calgary, Alberta. Szeőke uses a variety of mediums to explore multiculturalism and the representation of minority groups. She credits her Venezuelan-Hungarian background and family connection as the primary source of her artistic inspiration.

Szeőke is currently completing her BFA at the Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts), where she has been awarded seven scholarships for her portfolio work and academic excellence.

In 2021, she became one of the youngest artists to ever exhibit at the Arts Commons with her Latin-American-inspired exhibition titled Nuestras Caras (Our Faces).

Through her work, Szeőke shares her love for her culture while discussing more complex topics such as cultural identity, politics, sexism, racism, and environmentalism.
