INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ARE BURNING IN THE AMAZON TOO

As a Venezuelan-Hungarian with Indigenous background, I am indignant at the Venezuelan regime’s treatment of Indigenous groups from the Amazon. The regime has not only defunded Indigenous protection programs, but it has deforested and illegally mined traditional Indigenous territories. As a result, 197 Indigenous communities have become vulnerable to exploitation. Through the drawings from the series, “Indigenous People are Burning in the Amazon Too,” I highlight the human rights abuses Indigenous people face daily.
